• We do not recommend dark ads with a high percentage of black and little tonal contrast between shadows and midtones.
• Newspaper printing uses a special color profile, which may alter the original colors between 2% and 35%. This profile prevents pages from appearing over-inked, smudged, or dirty.
• The type of paper used in press printing (dark, porous), along with humidity, drying time, and other material factors, can cause color variations.
• Avoid using very thin or small typography. The minimum recommended font size is 9 px.
• If using lines in the design, they must be at least 0.5 pt.
• If placing text over a black background, the black must be pure black: C0, M0, Y0, K100 — not CMYK black.
